Syracuse police, feds charge 11 for gang-related activities
Update: Another man accused of being a member of the Uptown gang has been arrested this afternoon.
Bennie Jackson, 19, was charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of crack cocaine and possessing a firearm used in relation to a drug trafficking crime, said Assistant U.S. Attorney John Katko. Authorities searched Jackson’s home and found a .22 caliber pistol, which was the murder weapon in the death of Yashmik Stackhouse, 27, on Oct. 18, he said.
Jaycee Floyd Jr., 18, of 639 Ballantyne Ave., was charged second-degree murder, attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Stackhouse’s aunt, Yvette Reese, 42, was also shot and injured as the two were to a store through Radisson Court near Taylor Street.
Syracuse, NY – Members of the Syracuse Gang Violence Task Force announced this morning that they have charged 11 people for selling crack cocaine in alleged gang activities.
The announcement was made in the federal court building.
