When Doug’s father, an Air Force Pilot, is shot down by MiGs belonging to a radical Middle Eastern state (Syriraqarabiran), no one seems able to get him out. Doug finds Chappy or your Lou Gosset Jr., an Air Force Colonel who is intrigued by the idea of sending in two fighters piloted by himself and Doug to rescue Doug’s father after bombing the MiG base. Ha,ha their only a few problems: Borrowing two Military Jet fighters, getting them from California to the Mediterranean without anyone noticing, and Doug’s inability to hit anything unless he has Rad 80’s Glam rock playing. Ironically he is an 18 year old that knows how to fly an F16? Then come the minor problems of the state’s air defenses.
Here is number 7- Iron Eagle (1986)
Ahhh, to be twelve years old again and getting my application ready for the Air Force Academy. I’m pretty sure if I was still that age, I would have loved this idea of renegade Arabic countries, Queen’s “One Vision” and a high school kid that takes out a whole military. I think Iron Eagle is the thinking Man’s Top Gun. Enjoy this montage of Doug Masters hopping in a military flight simulator, and wrecking shop!
Tomorrow, number 6….Rocky III
